What is it:
The DC Dance Factory Summer Intensive session is an intensive workshop for kids who love to dance and are at an advanced level. This gives them an opportunity to spend almost a week focusing on dance, keeping them motivated throughout the summer and inspiring them to better their technique, improve flexibility, and have a great time dancing. Dancers will train with some of the best teachers/ Choreographers from all over the United States along with the DC Dance Factory staff.

What type of classes are offered: Your child will receive classes in the following: Ballet/ technique every day. HiphOp every day. Tap, jazz, musical theater, every other day and stretch, conditioning, turns, jumps once a session. Each child will have approximately 5/6 classes a day, a group warm-up, a lunch break and snack break.

Who will be teaching at camp? We will have some of the top teachers in the United States teaching at the camp. Some of our definite teachers we have so far are : The DC Dance FActory staff, Nick Bass, Justin Giles, Caroline Lewis-Jones, Merissa Gassel, Micheal Knight, and more we are waiting on a confirmation from.

How are the dancers divided up? You may sign up for one of the 5 camps offered. We put a general grade to divide them up but the dancer should be enrolled based on ability, since the camps are not geared for a beginner dancers. These camps are only for dancers on an advanced level that have competed or are wishing to compete the following year.

Camp A- Good for a dancer that is almost in Kindergarten or will be in K next year that has had previous dance training. Could be a dancer already on comp at a studio or one that is aspiring to be one. Camp session is only from 10-2.(could be some of our younger pee wees)

Camp B- Is for a dancer going into 1st-3rd grade .- (our older pee wee company) Dancer should have splits or be close, have a basic ballet foundation and a long enough attention span to last the full length of time of the camp.

Camp C- is for a dancer going into 4th or 5th grade- (our mini company & little boys) Dancer should have a good ballet foundation , should be close to splits, piroettes, and basic leaps.

Camp D- is for a dancer going into 6th-8th grade (our jr and preteen company) and should be an advanced dancer and have all listed above for other companies.

Camp E- is for a dancer going into 9th grade thru college aged dancers and should be advanced and strong ballet technique/foundation.

When is the Camp? June 20-23rd
Camp a is -10am-2pm
Camp B,C,D, and E are approx- 8am-3:00/3:30pm
*A detailed schedule will be emailed out the week before the camp


Spots are extremely limited and will be taken on a first come first serve basis so be sure to sign up ASAP. A $50 down payment is duet at registration and is NONREFUNDABLE. Siblings get a 20% discount. Those wishing to tryout for our 2011-2012 comp teams will do so during the summer intensive and will need to include a tryout form with their summer intensive registration form.
